'Tini Beauty is lucky enough to be sold in some of the finest beauty retailers around the world. What better time to express our appreciation than the day we toast the luck of the Irish? Okay, so the St. Patrick's Day reference may be a bit of a stretch, but we still want to pay tribute to the fabulous beauty establishments that make up the 'Tini Bar circuit.
First on our list? One of the first boutiques to take us on, and one of the best known and most respected sources for beauty in the US: the aptly named MakeUp Bar in Oklahoma City, OK. Almost 8 years! - What types of products/services do you offer?
We offer hard to find and exclusive products like Kiehl's, Chantecaille, Bonnie Holmes, Yosh fragrances, and fun lines like Fresh, Bliss, and of course Liptini and Nailtini.
- What made you start your business?
I always wanted to own a store with lots of lipsticks. That was my actual childhood ambition. I opened my first biz when I was 19 by using my Ford Taurus as collateral and opened Alexandra's Classic Faces. From there I bought the salon I was in and then opened a separate location to retail only. NOW we decided to go full circle and have a "lounge" with facials, body treatments, pedicures and mani's. Here we are 20 years later!
- How would you describe the MakeUp Bar and what makes it special?
What makes The MUB special are the people that make it happen. Our staff is bar none the best. We pride ourselves on being well trained and informed. Also the staff here love what they do and we find ourselves in a very lucky place to do what we love and help others feel and look better. That's a great gift and is by no means a "fluffy" job!
- How would you describe your clientele? Why are they drawn to the MakeUp Bar?
Our clientele is really everyone. I know that sounds so pedestrian but it's true. We range from the 10 year olds trying to sneak in a gloss and not a lipbalm to the 80 plus that still value an anti-aging cream. Men have become a huge part of our everyday traffic and not just the ones you think. Actually many teenagers and married men that will come in instead of sending their wives in.
- What is your best selling 'Tini Beauty product? Why do you think that is?
Kirsch lip stain by far. I think the stain color is really universal and can be used for so many things. We even use it as a cheek stain. It is one of those colors that you can deepen, wear lightly, use lips or cheeks, and it's going to look great. We use it many many times for weddings with a light gloss over top.
- Why are you a beauty-holic?
Hi. My Name is Alex. I am a beauty-holic. Shut the back door!! Really?? You have to ask this question?? I thought it was obvious!!!
- What's your best beauty tip?
We always remind our customer not to forget their entire body when thinking of keeping it young. A person can have a beautiful youthful face with a chicken neck and bitten off unkept nails. It's important to take care of yourself from your hair to your toenails!!
